Reading 4 fun
Reading 4 Fun
Hello, my name is Vasco and I'm currently in 9th grade. Reading is part of my family. My dad loves reading so much that he's office at home is basically a library. I've only enjoyed reading since sixth grade, when I moved to South Africa. Before sixth grade I thought that reading was boring, and I just didn't get any fun out of it. The summer I moved to South Africa, some friends recommended I read 'Percy Jackson', which I did, and really enjoyed. From there I moved on to more and more books, and more and more into Young Adult books. It is my favorite genre. I now love reading. I'm currently reading 'A Hundred Years of Solitude', which is quite complicated book. I started reading "the classics' this summer, and except for the fact that the font is usually very small, I really enjoy them. My favorite books ever are: 1984 and Animal Farm, both by George Orwell, and of course the Harry Potter series, by J. K. Rowling. I like Orwell's books because they are about communism, and talk about the flaws of totalitarian regimes, or through realistic fiction (like 1984), or in a form of parody (like in Animal Farm). I read nearly every day, and a lot specially during the weekend. Over the summer I read 5 books, which were: Lord of the Flies, 1984, Dorothy Must Die, More Happy then Not, and To Kill a Mockingbird. Reading is important because not only does it expand the mind and makes you learn new things, it also makes you a better writer.

ResponderExcluirI love those books as well, but I haven't read More Happy than Not. Perhaps I should start on that one. Reading is important, I agree.
ResponderExcluirNico is life, he is an angel.
Your blog absolutely shows your passion for reading! I had no idea you read so many books. Next time maybe you can include images or videos to make the blog more interactive. But great job!
ResponderExcluirIt's a good post and I like how you tell us how you started liking reading.
ResponderExcluirYour blog was interesting and gave lots of information about what kind of books you enjoy. Good work.
ResponderExcluirI'm impressed. 100 Years of Solitude is no joke...a very challenging work. My personal Marquez favorite is Love in the Time of Cholera. I also enjoy Orwell, Golding, and Harper Lee. If you are ever looking for any further recommendations regarding what to read next, let me know :)
ResponderExcluirYou and I have the same taste in books my friend! Not going to lie, but if it weren't for the movies, I probably wouldn't have read the Percy Jackson series but I'm so glad I have. Though, I'm not finished, I know what happens. I've never really been one to stay away from spoilers. Oops. Also, complete Potterhead as well. Now I'm curious as to what house you're in. Let me know! I'm going to guess Ravenclaw. I am a Gryffindor, just saying. I am in the middle of reading Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger which I consider as one of the "classics". Question: Are you guys reading Romeo and Juliet over there soon? I know my class is and I couldn't be more excited. Also, you said that you moved to South Africa. If you don't mind me asking, from where? And for some book recommendations, if you like questioning society, read Matched by Ally Condie. It's about a controlled dystopia. I'd say more but I don't want to spoil anything.
ResponderExcluirI love how you said reading is part of your family. What a great image! You probably have some great conversations in your family. What a way to connect with each other!
